During my early attempts to cook real food, such as things besides Ramen, I set off the smoke alarm on a regular basis. I even kept around methods to blow smoke outside around in the kitchen. Thankfully, I at least got slightly better, but now the sound of a smoke alarm going off is like nails on a chalkboard. If you’ve heard your smoke alarm just one too many times, but don’t want to take out the batteries, this is a nice gadget to have handy. It just attaches to your fridge and while you’re cooking something rather smokey, you can shut off the sound to your smoke alarm remotely. When you’re not using that function, you could also use this as a regular kitchen timer. So you won’t have to have an extra one cluttering up your counter. Of course this also could work for underage smokers attempting to hide what they’re up to from their parents. This was designed by Beth Fuller and isn’t out just yet. As of now, it’s still in the design stage of things.
